Thinking Lab in grades 4-7 is a unique environment where students are supported as they tap their creative energies through an exploration of concepts where Art, Science, and the Social Sciences meet. Students apply various research, design, and scientific processes to find and solve real world issues while paying careful attention to how they as individuals fit into the complex ecology of the human experiment.

Thinking Lab embraces the guiding principles of ECS - CATALYST, CHARACTER, COMMITMENT, COLLABORATION - and infuses them into a program rich in both content and creativity.  The ECS Thinking Lab is a catalyst in the area of STEAM integration and making an interdisciplinary program both effective and enjoyable.  We are committed to equipping our students with ecological literacy and use the lens of the artist and the scientist to help promote that development.  Students build their character by practicing our ECS Attributes during Thinking Lab and often collaborate to find and solve complex problems with the skills they are learning.
